Meet Dan, Owner and Stylist for our Barbershop Lounge (BSL)! In 2016, Dan purchased the Barbershop Lounge with a vision. This vision being to transform the brand into Boston’s Top Men’s Salon and Barbershop. Prior to taking ownership, Dan refined his skills in the men’s grooming industry by working with top grooming icons throughout the first stage of his career. From there, Dan led his own seminars across the U.S., as a representative for top men’s lines, tool companies, and men’s focused curriculums. Through this journey stemmed Dan’s vision for the direction of the BSL, which has now come into fruition.

Bringing a professional yet cool and comfortable ambience, prior to every cut Dan presents clients with a consultation and grooming discussion. From there, once a vision is formulated, he follows-up with a perfectly-executed haircut and recommendations for home care products and usage. Passionate about the importance of a complete men’s grooming experience, Dan remains enthusiastic in his efforts with every visit to his chair.

With experience in servicing Bruins players, local celebrities and billionaires, Dan’s clientele is widely-ranging; including Financial and Biotech icons, numerous professional athletes, and style-forward Bostonians. Meet Rosa! A member of our lounge from the very start, Rosa was recruited to help launch the Barbershop Lounge brand in 2008, and has been impressing us with every cut since. Over the past ten years, Rosa has organically grown a large following; particularly with the male business demographic of the Back Bay. With over thirty years of experience in the industry, she is able to bring a unique experience that showcases her vast skill set and professionalism, as a master stylist to the lounge. Take a seat when looking for an expert cut for medium to long hair, hair that may need grey blending, or natural and casual clipper cuts. When not wielding a pair of scissors, find Rosa taking care of close ones elsewhere, by spending time cooking and entertaining for her family and friends!

Take a seat, and meet Valeria! Recruited in 2008 to develop the salon side of our lounge, Valeria is an original member of our team and no stranger to a shave, with over 15 years of experience as a master stylist. In addition to her raw talent and light-hearted personality, her demand keeps growing for her ability to excel in natural clipper cuts, scissor-shaped haircuts, and grey blending with color — all with a blow dried finish! When away from the salon, Valeria can be found pursuing her other passions such as dancing, cooking, and discovering new music!

Joining the Barbershop Lounge team 8 years ago, Bo has been a tremendous addition for us. As a dual licensed barber and stylist, Bo packs ambition and style into every shave, beard, haircut or trim. He developed his own technique in order to deliver a pretty accurate haircut to a very demanding clientele .

With an understanding for every length of hair, Bo has a diverse clientele to match. Whether you’re looking for the tightest of fades, a beard trim, or layered hairstyle, Bo will provide a strong service. When he is stepping away from the chair, he loves traveling, biking, cars and spending time with his family and friends.

Hi! My names Maleena and I am absolutely obsessed with my career. I’m a Master Barber and a Stylist, which means I have a unique view of the head and how to go about shaping it. I love creating shapes that compliment the bone structure of each and every head I meet.

Kristin has been with us since 2012. She is a master barber and cosmetologist. Therefore, she can tackle most hair types and situations with lots of experience. She works very efficiently and loves to build lasting relationships with clients.

Gama Diaz is a world-class barber stylist. At the tender age of 19, he moved to Puerto Rico to study the art of men and women’s hairstyling at Dewey University. After graduating with honors from both barbering and cosmetology, Gama relocated to Massachusetts to begin creating a name for himself in the industry.

It didn’t take long for Gama’s talents and dedication to become noticed. At the young age of 25, he was scouted out and sponsored by BabylisPro as an educator and featured barber stylist. While Gama is well-versed in many areas in the art of hairstyling, his specialties include: men’s fading, men’s styling, women’s clipper cutting, and women’s styling.

It is due to the amazing artistic abilities and unshakable motivation that Gama has already seen so much success in his career. He’s had the pleasure to travel the United States with the BabylissPro team, educating and inspiring hair stylists all over the world.

Darrin Joined our team here in the fall of 2023. He had previously worked for many years on Mass ave in Boston at Floyds barbershop. He then later decided to go independent for some time.

Darrin is a true barber who specializes in tight fades or gentlemen type clipper cuts. He delivers a great shave and beard trim for those looking for facial grooming services. He is very careful and thoughtful in his approach. Darrin himself appreciates and seeks out a good haircut. He showcases that appreciation day in and day out.

Zak recently joined our team here in 2024. He had spent most of his career on Newbury Street in Boston at Anfa barbers prior to joining us here.

Zak is great with both his scissors and clippers. Delivering a strong haircut for all lengths and types of hair. Not only can he deliver a great haircut, but he is very proficient in shaves and beard trims. Zak himself has a great beard.

Juan joined BSL in late 2023. He spent the beginning of his career in the Metro west and then later in Manchester by the sea before joining the shop here.

Juan is someone who truly respects the industry and has dedicated a lot of time strengthening his skill set in barbering over the years. He has delivered very quality haircuts and beard trims for us here at the shop since joining. His positivity is contagious and we appreciate what he adds to our team.

Dougie is a highly skilled hairstylist with over a decade of experience in cutting, coloring, and styling. A true veteran of his craft, he seamlessly blends his expertise to provide every client with the perfect look.

Having traveled across the country to explore beauty, Dougie always finds his way back home to Boston, where he continues to do what he loves most- helping people feel confident and transformed through the art of haircutting and styling.
